I present you the comprehensive guide on how to not be a shitty doubles player in disc jam.

Step 1: Either play the net, or play the back court.

Step 2: pray to god your partner understands step 1 so that you don't get stomped by a team that does.

That's pretty much it.
Don't run all the fuck over the place, doing stupid shit. Get good at playing the net, and/or playing the baseline.

Anyway, more actual strategy:

If you play the baseline, pass the disc up to your partner (WHO BETTER BE AT THE FUCKING NET, KEVIN!) with circle so they can smash it. Pass it quick because your stalling takes power off your partners throw. If you get a solid catch or angle by all means shoot it, but there is a reason volleyball players set and spike that shit. If you're well centered in the back court on defence, there aren't many shots you can't get to, especially if your partner is running the net correctly to limit the opposing teams options.

Lob shots are a waste except if both players are way out of position in the same spot, or if you're sure you can catch the charged shot from your opponent and do a super return. If both opponents are crashing the net you can usually just hook shot around them, tough I do like a good lob shot to back a mother fucker up in singles play.

If you play the net, get good at stuff blocks and avoiding stuff blocks. R2 and L2 triggers are great for that. When your opponent charges their block, take a side step while the pass is on the way from your partner, and shoot around the block.

If you're up by the net during the serve, 2/3 of the time you can grab or stuff block that shit. Just learn to react, there are only so many serves people can throw at you. Sealing off the near wall is important, that's the hardest shot for your back court partner to get to off the serve.

Incoming angle/bounce shots are usually easily caught during a bounce off a wall.

Anyone else smashing on some doubles? SpinRecordsAK on ps4 if you want to team up.
