I am not sure if anyone else does this or it is just one of my quirks but I often fire up a game, navigate to the sound test and then have tracks playing as background music while I do something else.

Particular favourites include:

Streets of Rage series (obviously)
Batman - Sega Megadrive
Top Gear - SNES
Gley Lancer - Sega Megadrive

Plus tons more

Not many of my Neo games seem to have sound tests but for those I often leave these on rolling attract mode. Usually do this for SVC Chaos

I also used to play the CD tracks from Mega CD and Saturn games a lot too (Somic CD being a particular favourite)

Anyone else do this and if so what are your go to tracks?

Often.

I use the Modo app on my phone. I just upload the format music file (.nsf, .vgz, etc) to my phone and then plug that into some speakers or surround system.

the app is available for Android. No clue about iPhones.

I've on occasion used the jukebox feature in the unibios to run audio tracks while i do other things. SSVS is what i usually use for that as it's got excellent audio.
