I have a pcb that I want to replace a surface mounted chip on, and this is something that I dont have the skills for. Is there any member of the forum that's in NJ that has the skills to do this? Or anyone one that they can recommend?

thanks!

Only guy I trust to do surface mount is Channelmanic/maniac....but he's in texas. I will tell you that if you want to start to learn...get a good iron, watch some good videos, and look for a box of tekken 2/3 boards that are all dead....they make good practice boards. Also, DONT forget the flux....Channel uses a brush on flux, and not the pens.
I still have a long way to go as well, but thankfully, my through-hole work is much improved after a lot of practice.

Good luck!

What type of package is it? I can do SOIC, TSOP, SOJ, PLCC and QFP up to 160.
