Hi,
I have been trying to burn different bios for Dreamcast onto the required EEPROM without success.
Using TOP3100 with adapter SOP44 to DIP44.
The chip can be erased, read, blank, write but I get the same error over and over again upon "verify" process.
"error at:0001: (FF)"

So I decided to write w/o verifying but the chip remains blank / no data.

I have also noticed that the voltage is constant 3v against regular EPROM at 5v.

Any ideas on why the EEPROM doesn't retain any data after writing?
Is it necessary or even possible to adjust the voltage on the programmer?

Thanks

I have checked the continuity between flash chip and SOP adapter as well as the position of the adapter onto the programmer as advised by Voultar. All checks out fine.
The chip is clearly readable and identified by Topwin7
Maybe that adapter from China was not a good deal after all.
