Against my better judgement, I recently bought a shabby Micomsoft XNEO-1 and while I realize S-video has its faults, the picture I'm getting has an overly red hue - see photo below:

Anybody ventured inside of one of these gizmos and have any advice?

I've tried fiddling with the plug and using different s-video cables with the same, or worse results.

The X1 Neo as I understand it basically converts RGB to svideo externally. In that pic it looks like you've got red and blue but not green. I'd try to isolate if it's your Neo or your converter first by either trying the converter with someone else's neo or trying your system with an RGB setup. From there I'd open up the offending device and trace the green signal, it may be a cold solder joint or something that's an easy fix.

Check the cable, Ken. Like mentioned, it's missing green.
