PS: Kidding - Germany has a very active retro scene with lots of meetings, events etc.

there is a huge 2d-fighting scene in Stuttgart afaik.

I'm pretty new to Germany myself but i don't think they have any retro gaming conventions, i could be wrong tho.

They have a pretty awesome looking retro arcade in Seligenstadt (http://for-amusement-only.de/), i havent had the change to check it out in person, but i think it would be a perfect place for a meetup.
