I had this board for some years now, played perfectly in my Egret 2 but now that i tried playing it again the board has some issues. Mostly has to do with background and sometimes foreground. I have posted some images. I played it all the way through with Ryu and i took a picture of everything that had a glitch. As you can see below it ranges from black moving rectangle in the background. Bonus stage blown up car at the beginning. M. Bison statues glitching. Vega's fence all messed up. Zangief's fence broken. Ending credits and flying elephant heads. Its a freakin glitch party. Ive only cleaned the part where you connect the jamma with some alcohol 91% Isopropyl but that didnt help. Still having the same problem. the board looks fairly clean. Its a little dusty in between the two boards. i havent tried to separate them looks troublesome. Is anyone know how i can fix this i would really appreciate it.

re-seat the 3 boards and clean pins carefully.

If that doesn't work try switching the A board as it fails and gives such glitches. If it is the A board .... though luck.

Disconnect them. Very carefully. Apply force evenly across all the connectors so that one side doesn't pop way out and flex the shit out of the other. Then press them back together as well as you can. If this doesn't fix it it looks like an addressing problem but I don't know enough specifics about CPS1 to know where to point you next.

First rule of troubleshooting is to isolate the problem, that being said do you have another confirmed working A and C board. If so mate the SF2 board with another A board to see if the issue goes away, if it does you know your issue with the other A board, if it does not then you will know it is the B board. Also if you have a programmer you will also want to checksum your roms against the mame set.

You really need another working board to test with. It could be either one of the 3 boards with an issue - hopefully it's just an EPROM that has gone bad, otherwise you're probably going to replace the A or C boards. Without being able to hone in on which board is faulty, there's not a lot to go on, really.

I carefully removed the 3 boards carefully but its still doing the same thing. Honestly i dont know much about much about troubleshooting.

1.How can i tell which one is the A board?

2. Also, how do i remove an EPROM? Can i just pull it off?

Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

A board is the big, bottom one you connect the JAMMA harness to. C board is the little top one.

I generally remove EPROMs with a flat head screw driver, VERY CAREFULLY levering just under each short side (where the pins aren't) evenly until it can be lifted out. It's very easy to bend or break pins, and then you will be much less happy than you are now :p.

Well i guess ill just leave it for now. Its not that bad. Thanks for your help.
