Anyone know of a way to see if a atomiswave cart is a boot or not?

Hey guys - I picked up a couple of atomiswave carts in the past (from different sellers), and I want to know if they are bootlegs or not? One is metal slug 6, and the other is a KOF game (forget which). I can post pics, and open them if need be.

I bought these when I first started to build out my gameroom so I didnt know to ask of the sellers if they were boots or not (didnt know there was such a thing for the carts). Though they seem to work perfectly fine.

thanks!

Lots of ways to tell quickly and easy.

Easiest is serial:

MS6 is usually: 3500510
KoF XI: 3200964
KoF Neowave: 1702036

Round corners (og) vs straight corners (boot)

Thinner metal plate on bottom; looser or tighter fit in motherboard (boot)

You can always open up to verify too, but labels and physical cart are easy to spot.

On MS6 the price is also a good sign. Original MS6 sells for up to $300, boots are about $30-$40 unless your seller is a crook that tries to pass bootlegs for originals.

Serial number is a dead giveaway, but... Bootleggers have gotten smarter. If you own the cart, just open it up. Atomiswave games are a snap to open, just four screws, and you can't even damage a label by doing it :)
