So I have a Raiden II board here and a vogatek supergun which is currently hooked up to a PVM 2950.

Needless to say the PVM won't sync with this board, nor with a scart to BNC cable I had with a stripper in it.

I was hoping I could feed it from the supergun into a scart to component converter CVS 287 since it claims
This Scart to Component Video adapter operates in PAL, PAL M, PAL N, NTSDC, NTSC 4.43 and SECAM.

and then run it to a consumer grade trinitron i had laying around.

I won't be able to test this until my male to male scart cable arrives but was just curious if anyone has had success getting this to work. I'd rather not have to hunt down a unicorn TV or invest in an XRGB2.

Thanks guys

The XRGB2 is likely going to be your best bet to get this to work.

That board has a goofy sync rate, which I assume you know. You'll have to find something that is going to accept that sync rate.

Xrgb2 won't work either as I had a Raiden II board and my xrgb2 didn't like it either (nor did my 2950).

Well,
This isn't looking promising, I'll hope to get lucky with this converter once I can test.

It works with a supergun to scart on a Trinitron TV from the early 90's.
Is your PVM digital ? The 54Hz refresh rate should be supported by analog PVMs.

Interesting. I never tested it with my xrgb2 back in the day. But it was the reason I choose that xrgb model as it was the only one to work with Raiden 2 according to shmups foums.

OK so new development..and this is weird.
I just left the game run for a few minutes and it went from a black screen with nothing, to fully syncing.

I have no idea what happened other than it took time to negotiate the sync signal but I'll play a bit more to see.

This. I think Yodd had FBUAK.

There is a hard dip on the 2 just for playing seibu & IGS stuff.

What hard dip?

The only switch on it is the RGB brightness switch on the front.

IGS stuff works with it no problem. My Raiden 2 board did not.

So I can get it to sync right away now on the 2950...the fix?

Turn on the tv, boot the PCB, turn off the tv and then back on again.

Hey fuggit, it works I'll take it.

Must be a refresh thing, I bet you'd get the same result from degaussing it.

That's brightness? No kidding. The more you know...

I always thought the pcb switch was for my odd ball PCBs...which were IGS Virtua Bowling, and Raiden. When I flipped it, they worked.

Cheers, man!

Ah, sorry - I just saw this thread. I was having the same issue and found pretty much the same solution. I just got the board over the weekend. It sometimes boots up fine, but other times I need to 1. turn on the supergun 2. turn on the tv 3. turn off the supergun 4. turn on the supergun.
