Can anyone provide me with some pages / pics / videos that break down troubleshooting faulty PCB's with digital multimeters (continuity), like traces, etc, and any other valid sources of information that one who is a pretty much a complete n00b in these matters would find useful? I have a few PCB's that I'd like to test including a PCE GT that has had the CC800 cap leak on the controller board and the button "1" does not work.

Also, what do I use to neutralise cap leakage? I know there is vinegar and baking powder but one is specific from the other.

I'd like to get my hands dirty with soldering and troubleshooting these things but I've never picked up a soldering iron and am a beginner with a multimeter. We've got to start somewhere, I guess.

I believe Aussiearcade has a nice repair log section as well.

Probably easier to post about your specific problem at the start. Different eras of boards will require different skills and troubleshooting strategies.
