So I opened up this cart today to clean the contacts, as I was getting some audio glitches. I found this inside. The black blobs over the chips scream bootleg to me, but it's on an SNK board?

I'm assuming this was made from a cannibalized cart. But why slug 2?

Also, there's a move set sticker over part of the back board, from what I assume is a KoF game. :lolz: Not sure what that's about. Thought that was pretty interesting and a little surprising when I found it.

Anyway, I'd be surprised if this wasn't a boot. Anyone seen ones like these before?

It's a hardcore BOOT.
http://www.mvs-scans.com is a good site to help you make the determination.
I've had the M1 chip & p1 chips go bad on me before which would need to be repaired with window rom and that's OK

The move strip is amazing. Are there windowed roms under it? Is it because the bootleggers ran out of tape OR is this the game they sacrificed to make it?

I believe the move strip is to avoid the solder points of the upper board making contact with the lower board. I've seen that in a couple puzzle bobble boots I've got.

Regards.
