I don't get any of the appeal in this game? ... Characters seem like bland douche bags. Art trades on a stylization towards illustrative, but just seems rough/unfinished/poorly realised.

Yep, God Hand is still amazing. I still like Urban Reign too though. I did a 4P of it a few years back and good times were had by all. Come to think of it, I really liked Urban Reign back when it came out. Was pretty badass...
