Taito X2 issue

I just got in on the Taito X2 with multi HD deal recently and finally got around to hooking it up yesterday. It has an odd issue where if I don't select a game within about 10 seconds, it says "JVS Error" in big red letters on the screen and restarts completely. I know there's no problem with the JVS board because when I do start a game, it works with no issues. Anyone have any insight on this?
