I am working on my first Neo Geo CMVS build at the moment (nothing spectacular, basically a reload of Gummy Bear's briefcase I found in the forum archives) and as part of that I had my first go at wiring up a female panel mount scart connector. It took me a few goes to get it right and I couldn't find any decent guides etc. on the internet (mostly its male scart plugs or some overly complicated diagrams without a good insight into the solder side) so I thought I'd post a quick writeup.
This is the panel mount female scart connector:
Turn it to 180 degrees to the solder side and this is the wiring:
Going from left to right as per the pic:
Top row
GND; SYNC; GND; R; GND; G; GND; B; GND; AUDIO L; AUDIO R
Bottom row
N/C; GND; 5V; N/C; N/C; N/C; 12V; N/C; GND; NC
R, G, B go through 75 ohm resistors
5V goes through a 180ohm resistor
This is better view of the bottom row, by turning the connector upside down:
As you can see, I have connected all the grounds, also I have bridged Audio L and R, since I am using a mono board.
Hope this helps someone.
