Hi all,

Neo Geo controller MV1FZ motherboard is faulty.
UP and LEFT stuck directions are stuck.
Which chip can be to blame?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Control inputs go through the RC networks, into the Neo C1 chip.

Thanks.
NEO-C1 chip faulty.
Joystick - jamma LEFT and UP pin indicates several NEO-C1 also foot-circuiting.
Tomorrow exchanged C1 chip.

Did you first check if the resistor network was faulty? It's a common problem. Check the resistance between VCC(Pin 1) and the rest of the pins. Should be something like 1k, 1.2k, 1k, 1.2K, 1k, 1.2k, GND.

Thank you, yes, I checked it last night.
RC1 = 5v, 0.323k, 0.212k, 1k, 1.2k, 0.323k, 0.212k, 1k, 1.2k, GND.
I changed RC1 members, but there is no change.
It continues to blame.
What could be more wrong?
NEO-C1 chip?

If there is multiple value changes like that and replacing it doesn't fix anything then it's sadly the C1 itself.

I understand, exchange chip C1

You're lucky the C1 is on a lot of Neo boards. If you used MV1C, the YSA2 controls those signals and you can only get them from other MV1Cs.

C1 chip was exchanged, but the problem has not been solved.
CR block was defective.
Where can you take such a thing? Ebay?

If it bounces and makes a clicking sound then it's in watchdog. Check the connection from CPU>Bios>WRAM>BRAM

CPU>BIOS = OK
WRAM>BRAM = ?
Which chip WRAM and BRAM? (WRAM == Work RAM? 68k)

All. WRAM = Work RAM aka 68K RAM and BRAM = Backup RAM.

Is it me... or has neogeohu... moved from that silly NG X thing to having more tech problems than Win 10?

Just an observation...

He does seem to be having a string of bad luck.
Either that or he's started an MVS repair shop and XX is his unwitting employee ;)

What is the problem?
I bother you?

Oh no... It doesn't bother me at all... As I said... it was just an observation about how many tech issues you had recently...

Bad luck and all...

xROTx

PS. What DOES bother me is the way you replied to my simple post saying it... I appreciate your english isn't your first language and you probably didn't understand the post...

Hence... I'll consider it a miscommunication...

EDIT: You type the wrong thing to the wrong person when they're feeling weird... it could hurt a LOT... Just sayin' man...

Sorry, my English is not good and I use google translate.
Perhaps my wrong understanding of the sentences.
Recently, I received a few Neo Geo MVS mainboard, the majority of them are bad.
I do not want to throw away, I want them to fix it and use it.
There is no one to help in Hungary, few understand it.

You need to check chip functionality as well as continuity. A logic probe is pretty much a necessity when trying to fix digital logic issues.
With the amount of repairs ahead of you, this should be your next purchase if you don't have one all ready.

I checked the BIOS and addressing of outgoing data.
Results:
Address: 0xffff
Data: 0xffff

I think the bios can not boot.

If the BIOS is the problem, then you can test with the BIOS chip of one of the other boards you have. They are interchangeable AFAIK.

Regards.
