Neo Geo AES bought a console a few hours ago in Hungary.
I do not understand, but I can not find any information about it.
Apparently it does not exist?
Absolutely factory, I picked apart first.
Removable factory BIOS in it.
Model: NEO AEC
Serial: 50486

In this version, it can be done smoothly in the UNIBIOS?
Thanks in advance for your help.
PCB revision: AES3-2 (never seen this before printed on the mainboard).

Strange, the socket soldering looks factory-made, but AFAIK no AES came with socketed BIOS. Try installing the UniBIOS on it and see what you get, most likely it will work with no problems.

Regards.

Yeah that is weird. Normally the AES never had a BIOS socket. I can't say for certain how or why it's there. It could be deliberate on SNK's part or it was a mistake. Maybe it was a demo/dev unit or something.

Thank you, it would be nice if we did not install the BIOS to solder anything.
I've never seen anything like it.

I do not see it in no way used solder traces or retouching on.
And I can not find info about it anywhere.
Is not there a page where the versions written in detail?

I knew a 3-2 had to exist. Nice. Can you snap closeups of all the custom chips?

How much money may this machine be worth?
I ponder on the fact that I sell it and I buy a box machine instead.
How much would it be possible to sell it for?
What is his real value?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think it has any more value than a regular neogeo AES. I think these go for about $125 console-only these days? You may want to check the "what's this worth" thread in the Market section.

Regards.

It's not the first factory socketed one.
I'm amazed you guys have never seen one.

It's not common I know. Didn't someone posted the same thing some years ago about a Korean version being factory socketed too?

It's not that it's factory socketed, it's that it's a never seen before 3-2. Before we saw this we only knew of the 1st gen, 1st gen w/daughterboard, 3-3, 3-4, 3-5, 3-6 and the korean one.

If you plan to sell it I think you should show it around on more Neo related web sites so people know it's out there and then maybe put it on ebay. I'm sure there is some collector that would love to have it.

Oh! You mean the 3-2 Board Version.
I get it I get it ;)

I thought it was due to the socket itself.

Thanks, I'll try to ask a few more pages before I sell on eBay.

If you happen to still have this board, can you take a pic of the underside of the board at the headphone jack showing the audio circuit traces to the JRC chip? Need to check on a theory that the "NEOGEO-2" schematics on the Internet are of this particular revision.
