Need help with Neo Geo CD toploader

Well, just got my toploader in from Japan today... and it won't spin discs. From what I can tell, the laser casing is scraping on the bottom of the spindle. I've tried pulling up on the spindle but it doesn't budge or slide at all. Do I just need a replacement assembly or can I sand down the casing on the laser to get it to fit? Just don't want to have to wait another 2 months to get my NGCD working... Thanks!

press the lid switch down(round one) and see if it spins. Sometimes it gets stuck.

How hard did you pull up on the spindle? You might have to use a lot of force to get it right. Open the case and try using pliers to pry it up.

For fuck's sake though don't go sanding the case. Christ, that is a hard core solution. Why not just hammer out a bigger hole while you're at it?
