I was doing some random cleaning today on one of my KOF2000 carts and noticed it has an odd daugtherboard. I did a quick search and saw a post saying these are found on Metal Slug 3 and KOF2000. Anyone know any other games that have these same daugtherboards, or is it just specifically those two?

I have two copies of KOF2000 and they both have them, so I assume pretty common? Anyone else have one?

Those daughterboards are designed to make ROM reflashing easy. They allowed SNK to start cartridge production earlier without fear of encountering production-hampering bugs in the P ROMs towards the end of beta testing.

what HMG said. There are other carts with these, Garou for instance. Funny thing is the connectors are the same as in NGP(C) carts.

Some Kof'99 carts have an Altera chip daughterboard and SvC also has a really weird one, both are different to the NGP(C) one though.

So games that have these:

1. Metal Slug 3
2. KOF 2000
3. Garou

I have kof 2000 without the daughter board but Garou with daughter board.

I have never seen a Garou with this, and I have seen quite a few. Also, none of my MS3, KoF2k or Garou carts have daughterboard, so maybe not that common? or only common in some regions?

Regards.
