So, how many of you have become fans of porn for women thanks to the Vita?

hahaha i bought a ton of VN's assuming I could get my wife to play them. She has zero interest. They just sit on my shelf, I doubt I'd ever try them. Steins Gate is the only one I am interested in trying, but it's not Otome

Steins Gate takes a bit before it starts rolling, but once it does it's really great. I never played any VNs before Steins Gate, and now I'm totally into the genre. They fit well into my stupid adult lifestyle and are very relaxing.

I don't see myself playing the Otome stuff. I'm surprised so many of those games got retail releases. Must be a decently sized market for them.

And I'm pretty sure they are very easy to localize.

I read Limited Run has 35 more Vita games coming this year- plus one special game to anyone who has bought every Vita release (lol). I guess that is great if you are a fan of physical copies, but wow, RIP to anyones's wallet trying to collect those. I'm honestly fine with digital copies for most indie releases myself.

Yeah, most of the LRG releases are like mobile phone games for $50...no thanks. I've only bought what I plan to actually play from them. I know a ton of people buy them and keep them sealed. Purely for collecting. Whatever, I guess? Not my jam.

The Lost Child looks solid. Only digital on the Vita (hard copies on Switch and PS4), which I'll be picking up tomorrow.

Finally got a proper Vita instead of a TV. Cheap enough, but didn't come with a charger. Do 1000s take forever to charger via USB? No one had an AC adapter set, so I'm stuck charging it on my laptop, and now on my PS4 via USB.

Update: when charging on the PS4, the Vita did much better.

I walked into Gamestop over lunch to grab The Lost Child for PS4...none. (They 1 that was reserved for preorder) None at any location near them....then they offered me the "Digital version", without irony....to my face. How the fuck is that place still in business?

This looks interesting:

Depends what you plug that USB into. USB is 5V, but it can carry 0.5amp up to 3.0 amp.

Bought it last night, kinda wish NIS and Kadokawa had stayed at the $40 pricepoint, but I suppose $50 isn't awful or anything.

I played about 45 minutes or an hour, makes a pretty good first impression. Some strong Persona vibes, good production values. Cross save works with PS4, but no cross buy.

edit: What do you all do for memory? There's a microSD adapter now, right? I've stayed right at the limit of my 64 gig card and I know I could always just get a second one, but when I tried that before and switched them back and forth the system would do weird things with trying to download games to the new one when I didn't want it to.

I'm sticking with one 64gb - Just been deleting games I never play to make room for new ones. My other systems just have 8gb's. The microSD takes the place of a game card iirc - plus you have to hack the FW. It's still just batshit crazy to me that no 3rd party cards or alternatives have popped up yet.

Is it odd my USB 3.0s on my laptop on charger couldn't provide enough amperage?

laptop ports are mostly 0.01amp to 0.5amp.
At most, they are 0.9amp.

So a laptop USB port isn't really ideal for fast charging. You'd want to use something like a tablet or phone wall adapter. those are typically 1.5a to 3a.

You cannot hack firmware if you are current. The guy isn't going to release the lack hack until he's certain the Vita will no longer get updates.

Got further in The Lost Child (picked up my GS's only PS4 copy to go with the Vita digital).

The dungeons are really lengthy, and the difficulty curve isn't too smooth- by the time I fought the first boss, the basic enemies were doing between 0 and 2 hit points of damage per attack to me (my characters had around 70-90 HP apiece max), but the boss still destroyed me. After doing a round of proper prep for it (leveled up one of the demons I was using, bought more healing items, went to the hot springs for a buff to my characters for the fight), I won, barely.

It definitely feels like a Kadokawa game, for better or worse, in the wonky difficulty and some convoluted systems, but is engrossing if you get into it.

Awesome, I ordered the PS4 version this weekend. Someday...I will....play it.
