I picked this game up recently and I'm actually quite enjoying it, but damn, controlling that paddle is stressful. Is it just me or is it extremely difficult to make it stop exactly where you want?

I've been using the CD control pad (easier at the moment due to a lot of my stuff being in storage), is that where I'm going wrong? Is it easier with an arcade stick?

While it's totally possible to play Pop'n Bounce with a joystick, the "best" way to play a Break Out/Arkanoid-style game would be with a Spinner/Paddle:

The problem with a normal joystick is that there is a dead zone in the middle, which isn't true for a spinner. I ghetto mod the stick by changing the ratio between the part above and below the pivot point to minimize that effect (which also improves Fast Striker gameplay for the same reason).
