Thanks for that. I'll get some pics up. I've notice there is one EPROM from the pics the guy has sent me.

I'm thinking boot, but would just like some clarification.

Edit: Actually after looking over it, it does look fishy. Some of the jumpers look changed (top left) and none of the eproms have the original capcom stickers on it. That C-board could be from 10 different games as well as the B-board.

Thats a boot pal.

See those eproms on the right? The four under 32, the label, straight from hong kong. Very common in oz.

Most of the red waves and rainbow sf2 have the eproms like that too.

Thanks for the heads up fellas, you've saved me wasted money and disappointment. I felt it was too good to be true.

My eye for these things are firmly with MVS, I need to educate myself.

Duuude, you certainly have the hookups! That would be amazing, definitely no rush but it is on my essentials list. :)

More like conversion.

The Capcom boards are legit.

But the rom layout is not legit.

The ones with the Mitsubishi and Texas Instruments rom stickers are odd.

It's a conversions using a Mercs board, the O224B PAL is still on the board.

Yep, dead give away.

The only time I see those Mitsu foil stickers is on legit HK version boards are from companies other than Capcom.

Final Fight only had US, Japan, and World ROM sets.

Definitely a conversion...If the theMot cant help you but 100% he will but if he gets stuck I can help you out with a original B + C Board which he needs to find a working A board to complete it.

Shouldn't the C-board be different too?

I recall Mercs having a connector for the 3rd player.
I wouldn't mind having that board. The conversion is totally reversible without much trouble.

PAL is on the B Board. I've seen so many mixed CPS1 boards over the years. I've lost count on how many A boards alone Busted has gone through.

But you are correct all MERCS C-Boards have the Player 3 connectors. CN3 on the C- Board.

Yeah, that's more like it :)
That connector don't let me lie :D

I really thought the PAL was on the C-board too tho.

Is there any other board that has the solder points for the CN3?
Just asking out of curiosity - would be fun to use a compatible C-board and apply a connector in case of need.
Those C-boards die like rotten tomatoes.
The only spares I have are B-17's, and my CPS1 games are all B-21 based games!

You might be thinking of the suicide/battery boards like Knights of the Round.

Mercs is the only board I've come across with a 10pin CN3.

That is one confused CPS1 board!

My take on it: it's a legit Final Fight from an asian distributor that was converted from a 1941 (which is ultra rare so a shame).

Here's my reasoning:
--The PAL is legit from a Final Fight - can't be faked.
--There's a revision of Final Fight that used a CPS-B-05 C-board (US region in mame but maybe a world region exists). I bet that C-board has a CPS-B-05 chip.
--The program Rom labels are legit 1941 World version labels. I used to have a 1941 World version with these exact labels that came from Asia
--I'm guessing it is an inhouse conversion by Capcom Asia. I don't understand why they would still use the 1941 rom labels though. The eproms for graphics use those mitsubishi silver stickers that are common, even used by Capcom japan at times. They probably didn't have any Final Fight mask roms on hand and just went with eproms. I've seen US Final Fights with some eproms in place of mask roms (but not all like that).

Either way, that's an interesting frankenboard. It's probably came from the factory/distributor just like that rather than a bootleg conversion. A bootlegger wouldn't have access to those program rom labels or that PAL chip, and it doesn't make sense to convert from a '41 to a FF these days since 41 is very rare. Final Fight was a huge hit back in the early 90s, whereas 41 wasn't as successful.
