NGPC battery charger - Are these rare?

I've just bought an SNK NGPC charger and batteries. I have never seen one of these before. Are they rare?

I also bought one last week, I think they are rare in Europe (and maybe in the USA) but I heard they are "usually" seen in Asia.

I found mine on ebay from an english seller: http://www.ebay.es/itm/361101563323

In fact I wasn't looking for it but I was browsing for NGP stuff and made an offer

That looks good in the box. Mine was from eBay too but comes unboxed with a system. I bought it for the charger really as I already have two NGPC consoles (although one is faulty).

Yes it's in excellent shape and looks it has never been used. I just received it last week and haven't still unboxed it yet, my little daughter grabs anything she finds and after this I need two or thre days before I can find it again

Those batteries are old. Do those still hold a charge?

I wouldn't call these rare, but they aren't common either. Extra sets of 2x SNK branded batteries were also sold.

I don't think they will hold a lot as they may have more than 10 years, same as the spares you can find...

What an odd item - - the NGPC was already a champ for battery life.

Yes, a lot of odd stuff was made for the pocket... including ear buds.

I have never seen one before. To me it is surprising how much it looks like an Eneloop charger.

i see them from time to time, but I'm not really interested. No modern function, so it's just a collector's piece.
