Local video shop had 2 arcade machines out the front, TMNT 4 player and a 4 slot MVS big red. The games used to rotate but the first one that hooked me was magician lord. The graphics, the art style, the rather mature demonic theme, like nothing I had ever seen before. Some others on that cabinet that I really liked were king of the monsters, senguko, cyber lip, blues journey, cross swords and ghost pilots.
Being very young (maybe 8 or 9) my disposable income was limited / non-existent and my weekly $1 didn't last very long. I remember one time the arcade machine owner was swapping cartridges and saw me standing there watching him. He goes "hey kid want to have a go?" of course I said yes, he hit the credit button at least 20 times, locked the cabinet. "Have fun!". It was like xmas...Pretty generous of him to do that.
Although it was only a small shopping center some of the shops had some pretty cool arcade games. Captain commando, snow brothers, sunset riders, amongst others
