Converted SNES controller compatibility issues with Neo Geo

I recently rewired a SNES controller to be used on
the neo. My first test was on my mvs 4 slot I used the controller test, all buttons worked. But now here are the issues.It only work on about half of my games. Some games the d pad and the ABCD don't function at all but the start and select work.I then tried on my AES the problem still exist.I would like to know if anyone here have experienced this problem or did I do something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You'd have to remove or disable the IC inside the Snes controller before you'd be able to use it with a neo geo. The neo's controller port sees only buttons that get shorted to ground, where the Snes uses an encoder to send the signals, so they'd be all screwy if you left the IC connected.
