New Chat Installation

As you may have noticed, we have installed a new chat system on the site.

It appears in the side menu and also as a banner/bar on the bottom of your window. We're slowly going to integrate some additional features but it's a very nice product that is very similar to the trollbox that we all loved but hosed the site.

If you would like to heap praise upon the moderation team and admins about how awesome we are, please do so in this thread.

If you have any complaints about this new chat, go fuck yourself.

(Yes, this will work with mobile devices and compact web browsers.)

Consider it beta for now until we work the kinks out.

Im on a galaxy tab and cant see it.

See that item called "Chat" on the side menu?

Yeah... click that.

(It works great on mobile devices.)

Is it supposed to be on the left or right? Im not getting anything and there is nothing at the bottom either. Is this some kind of script or flash. Odd that its not working because the galaxy tab is usually better than ipads and whatnot for this type of thing.

I like the idea of a chat function built into the site... Not sure I like interface. The "who's online" I think is pretty neat, also makes me painfully aware that I have very few friends. *crys*

I like that I can pm someone even though they are not in chat, although that might bother some people I'm sure.

If you click the CHAT link on the left site menu or the POPOUT link inside the banner, you'll get the traditional "chat room" single window. The bottom is just a mini chat accessible anywhere.

If people hate it, I'll remove it.

Im on desktop view. This chat feature is clearly not galaxy tab compatible. This chat will never dominate the market with this attitude.

So I'm on the forums with safari on my phone, chat does not show up. Not bitching, just want to put that out there.

You may want to try Chrome on your iPhone. I've come to love using it vs. Safari and it keeps my bookmarks / history updated across all devices and computers that I use Chrome on too. Oh, and the new chat works on it too.
