Pretty nifty! What is the platform for the games? MVS, AES, roms? Will you be adding an LED credit counter, and are there any plans for a marquee holding solution (albeit, a digital solution would make more sense)?
As I said, pretty nifty idea 8man
Hey Ren, It will run MVS from each side (2 player games).
Since I'm a BIG AES fan, it will also have an AES setup (2 player games).
By putting 2 different systems, I can play different games on each screen.
All the hardware will be stored in the base.
Looking for individual top loading coin slots (on the top surface),
Already have the credit counters, and have plans on putting in a marquee.

Yes, this will be my personal "demo" kiosk.

Why not get a versus city instead? Or a few proper SNK cabs like the MV-U4? Their monitors are said to be amazing. Or get 6 Super Neo 29 cabs in a row... one for each Metal Slug title on the Neo.
40" screens are much too big/wide for a project like this. You'd have to make the panel insanely deep just so the player can stay far enough away and see the whole screen.

16:9 screen for 4:3 games should be made illegal.
I could buy any cab: City, MV-U4, Neo 29's.
But, "everybody" has them.
I already planned for the 4:3 ratio.
The 16:9 screen that I was looking at, has a ~36" diagonal (4:3 format).
(3-4" of black bars on the sides).
Check out the design of the top.
See where the black turns sharp to the left (where the dashed arrow starts)?
That was intentional. If you follow the curve to the left, 16:9.
Straight to the screen... 4:3 format.
I already tested a screen, playing at the distance I spec'd. It worked great!
The "demo" model that you see, is created from a CAD program.
All the dimensions are created to size.
I can produce plans and build from this model.
I'm old school. I sketch everything out by hand first.
Then bring the sketches into Adobe Illustrator (to size).
From there, the Illustrator files import directly into the CAD software.
All sticker/label work is created in Adobe Illustrator.
I can send these "vector" files direct to a vinyl cutter and have everything made.
