I acquired a replacement copy, which also shows white/outlining edging around the spine logo (but much less, very minor in comparison) as well as on the bottom (as opposed to the left side) of the screenshots on the back of the insert (again, much less than the earlier copy).

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

looks kind of dotty. Is that the camera or the insert that seems to show the matrixing like that?

It's not dotty so much as a little strips. On the K, the white strips are thicker to mid-way up then either the top or the bottom of the left side of the K.

The camera is showing it decently but you really need a loupe to see the structure properly unfortunately, but it is obvious to the naked eye if you are looking at it.

Given that the guy I think you bought this off (I might well be wrong) is selling plenty of high end carts it would be useful to get someone with a legit copy to give an opinion.

are you saying that the picture isn't showing up dotty? The photos you posted show a texture that makes it look pretty bad. If the camera isn't the issue, then the insert is a major issue.

As for the line, I don't see it as prominently in this picture: http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/222/425529-blazingstar_back.jpg

The camera is showing it decently, what I'm saying is that it's more white little strips as opposed to dots. Think of thin rectangular lines 1/16 of an inch each in length or less going north-south just to the left of the 'K' on the spine.

The first pic is a little too low quality to tell - it might have the same issues. But to your point, I haven't seen it in any scans, but I don't know their quality.

I have a conversion insert here in my possession that I was planning to use for an MVS project and that insert doesn't show this. It's just weird as it only shows up in those two places - SNK on the spine and on the borders of the back insert pictures. Everything else looks fine.

Shit, I'm being stupid, I didn't think of photobucket. Check out for comparison these three sets of pics I've still got for the two blazing star carts I've had:

Thanks, the SNK on the spine definitely shows the same thing in the high res pics:

I think I can see some edging on the left side of the pics here (hard to see for sure since it's still under plastic):

Thanks for the close up pics guys, its great to be able to compare my copy with yours. I bought my Blazing star from a reputable dealer so I was reasonably confident its legit, but again having a frame of reference from other legit carts helps
