Aero Fighters 2 proto? Socketed Roms!

So I picked up this aero fighters 2 cart, and the game appears to play the same as my other aero fighters 2, but this one has sockets on the top board and a number sharpied on top...is this a proto? Or an early revision? Why would they put sockets on the top board, and not solder the roms directly? Tell me what you think!

Judging by the jumpers, it looks like the cart was converted to AF2 from something else.

Do you have a UNIBIOS? If so, what does the CRC check report?

I had a bootleg Metal Slug like that a couple years back (socketed eproms). Maybe it made it easier to convert the bootleg into another bootleg cart?
