Is Normal? The sound is OK but...

I wait for you answers!

The power supply is only needed if the system is a non 5v system. If yours is a non 5v system then use the screwdriver to turn the screw on the converter.

The polarity of the converter is wrong, it needs to be center negative. I'm surprised the system even booted.

Sorry, this neo geo and adapter are mine but I could not register for a problem.
The polarity of the adapter is changed, if not changed the console does not boot.

My motherboard is version 6.3 and I have rgb mod (vertical lines and suprimed capacitors). I tested with unibios 3.0 and original bios and the result is the same.

Photos mod rgb:

Mod vertical lines (cut traces)

Capacitors and resistances:

with this mod AES picture perfect:

The screw does nothing.

Thank you very much for the help.

Did you try turning the screw on the converter?

Nevermind, I see you said it did nothing.

With a normal AES game it is fine?

Hi again ..
I tested the adapter in another neo geo and also failed.
I tried another adapter in my neo geo and works ok.
Now I know that my adapter does not work correctly, you know how to fix it? Fail only text and text background mainly
Thanks!

Hi dudes,

Maybe this is a dumb advice but the problem could be the pot itself.

Hi fremen,

Today I opened the adapter, I cleaned boards, checked welds, check pot and works well, not see anything wrong with the rest.

Do you see any difference with another mvs converter?

I mounted again but nothing has changed:

Text and life bar corrupted ..

I found a website with a list mvs failures and the last case is similar but not know where to start :

http://wiki.aussiearcade.com.au/index.php/PCB_Repair_Logs_Neo_Geo_6_Slot

I had made a change this adapter in another forum, I open converter previous owner permission but if I find solution I'm going returned ..

Hi,

Check the custom chip traces on the PCB1 front, I think that there is two traces joined over to the KS300 (word) or it is a picture artifact.

Hi fremen,
and finally it works ...
that's right fremen, thank you so much. coincidence this morning I found the bug:

I have found in: http://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=Main_Page

"Repairing" -> "Graphic Glitches" -> "S-ROM Data" Indicates:

Graphics from the S ROM are used for stationary life bars, credit counters, on screen text and other graphics that don't need to move around. In the reference image, S ROM graphics are used for:
"SELECT ENEMY"
"TIME" and "5"
"COM"
"LEVEL-4" and "CREDIT 00"
They can't scroll or scale and they always appear "on top" of all sprites. This can cause S ROM issues to completely cover the screen while the opposite isn't true.

S ROM D0 (FIXD0) stuck high which creates jailbars covering the whole screen
Data outputs from the S ROM go through FIXD0~FIXD7 on the cart slot. If any one of these traces is bad then it can cause glitches that cover the entire screen. A single bad output can cause every odd (or even) column of pixels on screen to be obscured. Sprites below can appear fine with half the screen covered up.

Example:

800px-S_D_0.png

(These are jailbars I have, to a lesser extent)

In same web consulting AES pinout Cart (PCB1):

150px-Aespinout_chabot.png

with multimeter detected pin03 and 04 are contact FIXD0-FIXD1 (The PCB is designed with this error), cut traces two extremes, welding points and works perfect :D :D :D :D :D

I very happy now
