Tim Follin is a complete don. Also, Jeroen Tel is another funky mother for the C64.

Hmm. A very difficult quesiton for me to answer, considering I have so much music from my GamingFM days and I've continued to addd to my collection in all that time.

Some that stand out to me:

Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy XI
Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2
Ninja Gaiden (8 bit) I and II
Castlevania (8 bit) I, II and III
Super Castlevania
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles
Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Castlevania Harmony of Despair
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Real Bout Fatal Fury
KOF 94
KOF 2000
The Last Blade II
Dragon Warrior (any)
Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 3
Shin Onimusha
God Of War I and II
Shadow of the Colossus
Tales of the Abyss
Legend of Zelda I and II
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Witcher
The Witcher 2
Valkyria Chronicles
The Last Story

There are probably a lot more that I've loved over the years.

Lately, and I don't know why, but I've started getting fixated on J-Pop and J-Rock, but only the stuff I hear and see in video games. I have a hard time getting into that music normally, but if I can associate it with something I've enjoyed in the past, I seem to have little problem listening to it. Vocal collections are big with me, stuff like Valkyrie Profile or Atelier anything, and even stuff like what Gackt did for Dirge of Cerberus.

Oh wow Taiso it's a good thing we're not in the same room because people would have to physically restrain me while I'd shout, "IRON BLUE INTENTIONS BRO, EVER HEARD OF IT?"

Nah but seriously though i'm disgusted you left out Castlevania Bloodlines. for real dog.

Admittedly, the reason I didn't include Bloodlines is because I don't have much familiarity with the soundtrack or the game. I remember playing it through once and liking it but never returning to it like I have so many of the others. It's really something I need to rectify.

Chrono Cross has the best music of any game I've ever played.

Just one of the many great compositions:

It's really too hard for me to narrow my true favorites down. I guess this is just for SNES.

Shame it's a great game. I never realised until getting into the MD 5 or 6 years ago (was always a SNES man myself), but Bloodlines was a game I couldn't put down. I played it back to back many times - both for the game and the amazing soundtrack. My fave 16-bit Castlevania > Rondo & IV. The more I think about it, the more you need to 'rectify' it...

Savage always felt like they had to use the most offensive samples available for that game.

I prefer this:

Also: 8-bit Sunsoft games, the NES Mega Man games, Sega Super-Scaler games etc.

I stand by Ninja Gaiden as a complete package, but for individual tracks:

Gameboy Music rules too.

How can we all forget this games music? It's the best song ever belted out by a Gameboy that's for sure.

So many ways to choose...but honestly, I guess my faves will always be 8-bit era. It's what I grew up with so the melodies are memorable, especially when I hear a remix that takes me right back to that old feeling:
