what about 19xx or 1944 Loop Master for CPS2 ? Nice games around 100USD (well without the A-Board). Or take some MVS Shoot´em ups like Blazing Star, Alpha Mission 2 or Ghost Pilots. Also nice ones (without the mobo)

I don't think you'll find 19XX or 1944 for $100. $125 on low end but more likely $140-150. Both are ok games but lack depth in the scoring. Alpha Mission 2 is a snooze fest.

Blazing star is a good pick - nice palette, ship selection, and room for scoring. A bit too easy the first 4 stages and the beginning stages become very repetitive with little room for growth.

I do love 19XX for the throwback yet modern 1943 feel. 1944 makes me want to play Ghost Pilots, and for me, that's not a good thing :(

We've had a monthly contest on Blazing Star and only a couple of people made it to the 5th stage on a single credit.

Stage 4 gets me on Blazing Star every time...perhaps mjmjr25 is mixing up Blazing Star for Blazing Lazers?
