Is this good? Videos make it look a little iffy.

The control scheme was a bit of an experiment, but I feel it's worth the purchase if you are a fan of the current gen NG games and their take on the character.

I would also recommend the older Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Advance Wars games.

If you like simulations, try Anno 1701. A great underrated game, which uses the touchscreen very well.

Tokyo Beat Down
Oh yeah, I remember wanting to try that one.

Anyhow, I stopped by a different Target today, and this one had DOA and Spirit Tracks, so I used my gift card on those. Then I saw a different Gamestop on the way home and figured I might as well look. This one had Code of Princess. I was kind of hovering on the edge, but Atlus sealed the deal with their usual strategy of extra pack-in stuff -- OST CD and mini art book. Dang you, Atlus.

So with those 3 games, I think I should be set for a little while.

i didn't like the ninja gaiden ds game at all. after a while i realized it didn't matter how i slashed the screen, it had the same effects.

Flower Sun and Rain is very twins peak-ish

I picked up the world ends with you at a goodwill for 7 bucks.
Pretty nice find, good music and interesting rpg hybrid.

Haven't been playing many DS games lately,
but I have been going through harmony of dissonance on gba.
I love the castlevania series on these platforms.
I'm kind of lukewarm about the new one coming out.
I'd hope to be pleasantly surprised by it being a great game,
but I just won't be picking up a 3DS anytime in the near future.

I'm surprised Y's I & II is on no one's list.
Great game.

The World Ends With You is pretty much the only DS game that fully uses the hardware. If you get into that game as much as I did, say goodbye to your free time for a while ;) Loved it. Played through it twice. Didn't mind the emo-brats. It's a great game.

Never mind that. Can someone tell me a game that is very Spider-Man 3-ish?

But I did take a look at Flower Sun and Rain. Even though it looks pre-ps1 in graphics and primitive animation, the concept sounds interesting.

Ghost Trick for the DS is an interesting little game from CAPCOM.

i should have mentioned this

loved the hell out of that game

it wasn't terribly difficult gameplay-wise, but the animation, quirky characters, and story definitely made it one of my favorite titles on the system

Knights in the Nightmare. VERY underrated game and an absolute blast, freaking dirt cheap too.

Another vote for Advance wars dual strike. Your penis may retract into your stomach with all the teenage angst dialogue and anime but its a very very good series none the less. Dual strike is the best of the lot.

There are a lot of good suggestions in the thread so far.

I'd add Nanostray 2 for DS if you like shooters.
I know Tetris releases are everywhere and on everything, but Tetris DS is about the best version I've seen.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike, the best in the series IMO. Any Pokemon games (apart from Diamond and Pearl), the three DS Castlevanias (I prefer Portrait of Ruin, but it's a little too easy. Order of Ecclesia is quite difficult). Yeah you won't go wrong with Chrono Trigger.

Flower, Sun, and Rain is still occupying my time and has a good story. Aliens: Infestation is good if you like that Metroid-vania type game play. The original Tetris is a great game that the wife and I play religiously against each other. The same goes for Mario Cart DS. I've yet to try the new Mario Cart, but will do when I get a free moment.

Infinite Space is another game that eats up time if you're into large spaceship combat + rpg elements. The space combat is similar to the older Buck Rodgers:Matrix Cubed PC game in which you can board enemy vessels.

Don't get me wrong, if I ever see Advance Wars: Dual Strike out in the wild for a reasonable price, I will pick it up. But I'm not paying $60 for a DS game. Hell, I'm not even getting Phantom Hourglass because it's going for more than what I think is reasonable.

Advance Wars can easily be found used for $15 on ebay. Not sure where you are getting this $60 price tag from
