The neo x stick is virtually identical to the old one. They copied the pieces verbatim. Albeit missing a dust washer and the plastic base inside has a slight variation that is causing that snag. I fixed both my x sticks using the base from a trashed old style stick and the components from a ps2 neo stick 2 for the other. Both are now perfect and I'm using them with a intel NUC hyperspin set up.
However for it to work properly with hyperspin I had to load xpadder and map the controls as keyboard inputs. Mame ignores xpadder once it loads and the joystick registers as normal.
