13~14 inch tv's are perfectly fine for single player, but tend to be a bit too small for multi player in my opinion. In a small room they work very well though. :)

Thats my problem. I tend to play alot of multiplayer especially on drunkin halo nights. Old school halo or halo2 on the OG xbox..... Thats good stuff.

For those having trouble getting a good picture of their CRT, remember in the past some users reports that taking a picture from an angle instead of straight on to the screen made a big difference in clarity.

I find its not the clarity but the refresh rate getting in the way, angled shots aren't really much better at least with an iphone camera.

Taking a picture at an angle gives you a better chance of actually focusing on something interesting if your camera doesn't allow for manual focus, since at a high angle, you're working with more depth. If you have manual focus control or just have a camera that focuses well on CRTs, the only benefit you're getting from sharp angles is you're much more unlikely to run into moire issues.

My PVM is a bit on the small side, but I love her just the same nonetheless.

I love these small monitors. I actually downgraded from a 20 inch pvm to a 14 inch Ikegami to save a little more space and I don't regret it at all. I have not felt the need to go back to the 20 incher. I'll keep the 20 as a reserve.

If screen size is an issue with multiplayer on the PVMs, get a dual output switch or a splitter and play on two CRTs side by side. I've done this for stuff like 5-player Bomberman '94 and 4-player Zelda Four Swords Adventure.... except using an Extron matrix switch for more flexibility. 20" BVM on the left, 17" JVC on the right... and a 14" PVM further to the right if anyone needed it.

yeah dude i lucked out BIG time.

Problem is i already have an 19, a 14 and a 8 inch also Samsung consumer set. I didnt plan on getting ANY more CRTS and i REALLY wasnt looking for any of these. These were straight up luck and basically fell in my lap.

i'm keeping these two and switching out my 19 and my 14.

Such an awesome scoop! I still want a 20L5 as my partner in crime for my XP29 :) Two of those would be awesome for a fighting game set up linked together.

The one thing im noticing is the colors dont seem to quite "pop" like my 1954q and 1354q. like the colors seem slightly faded. I'm guessing that's a result of the 20L5 having 200 more TV lines...i mean the image is MUCH sharper but that trade off i'm noticing is kind of unfortunate...it could also be that i've been using the 1954 for a couple of years now so maybe im just super used to the image looking a certain way.

Just picked up a Sampo SME 32 monitor off Craigslist for cheap. Never heard of it before but was too cheap to not give it a try. I think it won't take 15.7k through the vga input but haven't tried yet, just threw in the 360 to test it out.

A distribution amp is what you would want. Those Extron switchers have that functionality built in essentially.

Another way to go about it, is for ones with loop-through, is to simply daisy chain them together.

I've done the daisy chain thing, it's a really cool feature. Nice setup btw.

How much are the NEC XM 29s going for nowadays?

Sellers can pretty much name their price with as high in demand as that monitor is.

I saw one fairly recently on eBay go for in excess of $700, which is crazy.

It'd be great if this thing was a bit larger, but the picture on this Ikegami really does blow me away some times.
