Gotcha, no pro mode in my SD set. But I have a sports mode that's awful!

That's what I said, flash it to PAL mode.

edit: that AnyRegion Changer homebrew looks promising, they say it switches the video mode but keeps the system region the same.

Really? I'm almost positive I've used a scart lead with my USA Wii before with no problems.

I recently started dabbling with Wii RGB sometime last year.

Yes Wii does accept RGB. i know you can change to PAL60 in the settings on most emulators and usbloader GX. the problem is you have to navigate the menus outside of games with an ugly green tint.

in my opinion you're better off just sticking to component.

Meh if that's an issue, just set it to boot directly to USBloadergx then, or set the system region to pal.

From what i've been told, that doesn't work. you have to actually do a risky soft mod to perma change the region.

I tried using USBLoader GX in PAL60 mode and I got a 50hz RGB signal for the very first game I tried. Didn't try any further after that.

When I played on my WEGA, I could swear that the image looks better.
Thanks!

Makes sense. Your eyes probably see the pvm as "too" blocky or too sharp, where as the wega has blooming and other attributes giving it a more gentle image like you'd expect from a crt. I sold off my pro monitors (which included the almighty BVM) once I found some good Wega sets. Never looked back.

Nothing fancy, picked this Philips 20PT6245/37 up for $10 last night. It has composite/svideo/component inputs, a pretty decent picture and most importantly it doesnt weight too much for a 20 inch crt. This will be lugged back and forth from CvS2, 3s, SFT casuals and tournaments at local venues in houston. Mainly U of H downtowntv.jpgtv2.jpg

Nice AJ! I am starting to think getting more WEGA's may be a good idea.

I'm keeping my eye on Craigslist especially the free section. Want another 20" to run a head to head setup

Yeah in my opinion the 20 and 24 inch sets are ideal for gaming. Bigger is harder to manage and to be honest I find the quality of mid size sets to be a bit better. I can see bigger being great if one also watches movies with family or friends on it, or if one sits a bit away from the tv.

Picked up some Logitech Z333 speakers for the PVM and they sound nice!

love my 14" PVMs. they look crisp, don't take up too much space and were cheap (even shipped to my door). Don't need anything bigger personally.

Then again, I sit close to the screnn, can't play without my glasses on and it gets crowded fast when firends come over.

13~14 inch tv's are perfectly fine for single player, but tend to be a bit too small for multi player in my opinion. In a small room they work very well though. :)

Speaking of 14" monitors. Here are some pics of my PVM-14M4U. I finally got my RGB cable in for Genesis. It looks fanstastic! Pics don't really do it justice and are hard to take as we all know. Here was my best attempt:

Was playing my AES earlier this evening and took a nice picture from my PVM of the action.
