Keep the fan on those things, 'cause that deal is HOT!

haha thx man, they were on ebay, starting bid of $1. no one else bid on em. Panda, they were in Greensboro. That's about 90 min away from me, at a medical equipment repair place. The VP gave me his business card in case I was looking for anything else, nice people!

Got a lead on a 29" RGB capable PVM, I hope it's not stale. I guess I'll shelve the KV-25XBR if this goes through.

it was a really simple jumper wire inside the" vega jr. supergun"
i will be back in a few days with pictures.to see if it helps other people cause i see other people had to buy a" sync striker"
or a breaker board in order to make their sony pvm sync.but i think it was only on 27 inch & 29inch monitors

This is looking good :) My friend with one says they're very easy to tate, I've never had a tate-worthy screen before :) so I'm excited

Has anyone compared pvms with bvms, or at least seen both? I'm going to have to pay the price to have one shipped anyways. I like the input options on the bvms though...

I picked up one of those 29" PVMs for free not long ago. Had to give it away because it was a fucking BEAST.

That Gateway DL31 would be awesome though!

God bless

They are excellent monitors, but I think I will stick with my DL27.

Yeah that's the one. Some retrogaming friends (not neo-geo.com members) from Houston are prepared to drive up here and get some themselves if he has more than one in good shape (I'm going to scrutinize the hell out of them and use some test patterns etc... wish there was a test pattern suite for PSX or PS2 :/). Insane lol.

So what's with this CRT having 600 lines, scanrates is where my understanding of analog video gets a little hazy so I'm not even sure how this works for multisync VGA monitors. It doesn't scale NTSC or PAL to fit those 600 lines, does it? Are some of those lines off-screen and you can fit a PAL-height signal top-to-bottom accounting for overscan? Well then that'd mean NTSC would be squished vertically... gah, I wish I never read that damn manual lol

edit: OK so it must have something to do with displaying full height PAL and also displaying anamorphic 480i at full vertical resolution in 16:9. I'm not gonna bust my head open figuring out how the beam squirts out less vertical lines sometimes and not other times.

edit2: forget all this, found a relevant wikipedia link thanks to the shmups forums: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_lines
it's horizontal stuff, I get how that works, everything's right again :) maybe I'll load up some CPS2 or CPS3 with soft15khz and see if I can spot the difference.
