So has supply dried up on all things Sony that warrants the 4 figure price tag, or is everyone on ebay/craigslist insane?
NO LOWBALLERS I KNOW WHAT I HAVE.

My plan was always to eventually replace my tv with one of my spare arcade monitors so I kinda slept on these things, and I think I might just have to as it seems I've missed the boat on these professional displays.

Technically impressive but the scaled 120P blur-o-vision may give you eye cancer

Lol. Way ahead of you. I have such a small gaming room I needed to do some layouts for it to fit in all this crap (and multiple CRT's), and one of those rugs from Ikea I put in one of my older layouts... but nobody but me and other enthusiasts of the 240p test suite would get it so I decided against it.

The sellers are insane, but the new crop of YouTube noobtards are willing to pay any price even for the junky shit we wouldn't have taken for free five years ago.

People wanting to pay money for trash crts is lulzy. I’m not paying more than $20 for a consumer set.

It depends what you're talking about. Sony PVM series, especially the QM series (cubes) from 1986 are pieces of art. I paid 250 for mine (20 inch). No regrets. Museums will pay money for the larger PVM QM cubes.

Lots of professional-grade stackable cuboid CRTs allow you to perform all sorts of geometry including showing a section of the input (a particular quarter). My Sony PVM can do this.

You need a separate video wall controller to do a 2x2 or 3x3, etc. type video wall display - the CRT PVM's, any PVM, won't do it on their own no matter how you adjust the geometry (which on the Sony PVM-2130 linked to, is only done via opening the case and physically adjusting pots – pots which do not give you enough adjustment to show only a quarter/corner of the image FYI). The real video wall controllers are hard to come by (at least pro versions). There's actually a Raspberry Pi based project you can build to do this though if you're really interested in it.

Part of this post should belong in the last purchases, but the best part belongs in here.

I just found a deal for three 29" arcade Toshiba monitors that couldn't pass. All of them are burn free. 2x MS9 yoke, 1x MS2932 yoke.

After some cleaning, small repairs (potentiometer swaps), and fune tuning, the results were beyond excellent.

    MS2932:

    Spot on geometry!

And so while I was on it, I swapped a chassis from my Samsung 29" tube (which was removed from the cab to place the Toshiba) and paired it with a matching PM1745:

Then stored this one next my spare Hitachi:

And for the final tuning of the last three days CRT marathon, here's some pics of my 29" Tri-Freq Intervideo spiting scanlines like a boss:

It's hard to capture CRT pics with precision. The picture is much more vibrant looking at the screen. Pics don't do justice!
