Congratulations. You are doing a great thing for these puppies. Remember, fostering may be tough sometimes but you mean the world to the dogs. I myself am absolutely for animal rescue. After my previous Beagle passed away life was s**t. Then I was introduced to Brew Beagle animal rescue and eventually found my new brother Deacon. He was found as a stray down in Quincy, IL and moved to a shelter for a while. When Brew found him, he was slated to be euthanized so they quickly saved him and brought him into foster care. Seeing his photo and bio on the website gave me hope that life would get better and it has. You are sure to miss your Bonnie and Clyde, but just imagine the pain that the new family is going through and how those puppies will fill their void in their life.

Cheers

Tiny jerk, I love it :lolz: My wife has spent enough time working with animals to have learned that all baby animals are inherently evil, and it's only their cuteness that saves them.

Very nice. My wife and I are in the market to adopt a dog, but we'll probably get one closer to home (Ohio/Western PA). I hope Leona finds a good home.

when you get ready to pull the trigger on a dog, lmk. We are linked up with rescues all over the country (unless you are out to get a dog with papers or something. then you'll need a breeder).

You're a good man Cdamm, thanks for fighting the good fight.

My rescue couldn't be adopted and was slated for death the day after I found her at the Downey animal shelter here in Southern California. It would have been on Tuesday, so I named her Tuesday. She couldn't be adopted because she got the crap kicked out of her in someone's back yard and when you'd try to take her on a leash she'd just lie right down with her head pressed to the ground, shaking like mad. She was terrified of everyone- so no one would take her home, despite her coquette-ish charm. She was in the shelter for at least 5 weeks I was told. She's been my best friend since that day and has paid me back ten-fold. The bad ongoing part is she's still extremely leery of people, which is slowly getting better, but I knew she'd always be that way to some extent when I brought her home. A few of the other dogs there that day were getting the syringe the next day too, it still bugs me.

I hate reading stuff like that and wish they would put down the previous owners instead of the dogs. Chances are they will do the exact same to the next pet they get.

How's Leona doing? Did she get adopted yet?

My wife and I ended up adopting a 9-week-old hound/lab mix from a local rescue. We've had her less than a week, but we're having a blast and she's been really good for a puppy. Here are a few pictures of her. We named her Scully (Dana Scully when she gets into trouble).

she went in to get spayed yesterday. and rather than being groggy post surgery, she has been geared up since she came home.

she has a family that is adopting her. we are just waiting for the paperwork to go through and we will be dropping her off this week sometime.

here she is with a giant bone (that she stole from my bulldog)

Ha, that is a giant bone indeed.

I'm glad her surgery went well and that she's ready to be adopted. Think you guys will start fostering another dog right away?

we usually give it a couple weeks to let our personal dogs get a rest. Leona is puppy number #5 we have placed.

Bless your heart cdamm, you're doing wonderful things. My dogs have been rescues, and I just took in 2 kittens that were abandoned and caring after them. Keep up the great work!
