I'm not sure on the price point, but the game selection is far better than those of compilations past.

Not bad, but everything i have bought from blaze in the past is low quality products.

For ex, the Blaze Megadrive (licensed), poor product.

Also for that price, eny person can buy an mvs and an 161-1 cart, at least that person is playing on an REAL hardware, and not on an shitii clone with roms.

Hmm not bad, but for that price as someone suggested, you can get a real system.
I'd like to see what hardware is under the case. A simple CPLD with an emulator...?

I really like all the official Neo-Geo branding on this thing. Tho I wish they had done a variation on the classic red and white colors of the arcade MVS and not the black plain home AES. For 200$ bucks I can buy a Google Nexus 7 tablet and run my NeoEmu app on it, all thats missing is a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Wii stick to control it via Bluetooth.

- how good is the built in joystick and buttons?
- no OLED screen for 200 $? and what about the resolution? does it fit the original Neo Geo resolution or will they have to scale the picture?
- how long does the batteries last?
- what titles are planned to expand the games list and how much will they cost?
- are newer titles even possible without frameskips? (RAM big enough?)

Another low quality, piece of shit of emulation based handheld.
:oh_no:

At least it has a nice selection of games including many titles from the early years.

But $200? lol

Plus, why would something that's suppose to be intended to emulate a 20+ year old console have a 16x9 LCD? I guess it also does movie play back as well.

I'm slightly excited, but I rather wait for reviews from the community before I even start saving to get it.

Unless BLAZE is going to do a 180 the way Mad Catz did for the Street Fighter IV sticks the build quality on this thing will be horrible.

That said I will gladly eat crow if they manage to release something that at least matches the NGPC in terms of quality.

You can play most Neo Geo games on PSP using either UMD , PSN or other means. This would be interesting if better games were included.

From the description, it sounds like the 'AES' is a dock which charges the handheld, acts as an input for the joystick and outputs to a TV.

It looks as if you put the handheld in the Neo Geo AES X slot for TV out and Controller hook up. I am really curios now. I better start saving just in case I want this.

Edit: Wow four post before I got done typing, damn you guys are quick. Any way I just think it looks cool and could be a neat piece of history. I am against AES stuff do to high prices and counterfeiting. I think this will be a cool way to a good looking "official" home system and portable in one. Can't wait to see this in action.

I thought the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Wii stick was wired.there's a wireless version?

I still think the idea of releasing a emu machine to be quite lame and I lol'ed a bit on the charging station and joystick. But I have to admit, its a nice touch. Guaranteed those will not be included in the $200 price tag. Those extras probably run you at least $100 more.

They call it wireless, but you still have to plug the cable from the stick into the wii controller therefor making the stick "wireless".

This actually looks pretty cool with the TV out/joystick and all. Might be cool for traveling, but ultimately for 'collecting purposes.' lol. I'm a sucker and pretty much buy everything SNKP puts out incl. all the PS3 downloads and iPhone games even though I have the MVS originals to play.

Why buy this instead of any other handheld emulator?
Can you even install other emulators or is it locked to NeoGeo stuff only?

I'll just wait for people to review it.

The base and controller are included. The press release states:

"The NEOGEO X GOLD entertainment system is set for a worldwide release on December 6, 2012 for a suggested retail price of $199.99 (USD).
