I just finished with Metal Slug 3, again. As per usual, love every second of it (well, except for a couple sections of Mission 5). Listening to all the awesome tracks gave me an idea though, how about a thread for music of Metal Slug? I'll begin. Here's a few of my favorites off the top of my head, no order:

- Second half of Mission 2
- Mission 3
Metal Slug 3:
- Mission 3, first detour
- Mission 2
And of course, the boss and ending themes.

You mean me? I've barely ever played Slug 4, or 5 for that matter. I also haven't played X in quite some time, I forget what the alternate tracks were like.
Without doubt Assault Theme is THE best Metal Slug track, and for me is the track that defines the series. I was pretty sad that they did not include this in Metal Slug 4 & 5...
As a one off piece the music that accompanies the end credits to MSX is pretty awesome too (like an extended / remixed Assault Theme).

I wanna ask something. Does PSX or NGCD versions of the first Metal Slug have any arranged musics different from arcade versions?
In MS3 the Arabian sounding level music.
Dunno if its the best, but it stands out in my mind.

In the void, the air mission in slug 3
I actually have blue water fangs, kiss in the dark, judgement, and back to the china on my mp3 player(for jogging). The last one came up on Sunday as I was hitting the 11th mile during a half marathon and it pumped me up hardcore. I should totally add "In the Void"! Thanks for the reminder rarehero!!
