Mugicha: The Sega CD version made for some neat variations on the music, in allot of cases I still prefer the original arcade PCB. Still worth checking out for anyone who hasn't yet.

Neogeomaniac67: How is Splatterhouse on the Marty? I was a fan of the original arcade version, tho I did most of my gaming with the TG16 port. Turbo Grafix was a faithful port for the time I felt, missing the opening cut consequence, some frames of animation, and some sound effects.

It is by far the best version on any console. An exact arcade port. Don't get me wrong, the TG16 version is good, but all others pale in comparison.

Trying to go for the 1CC on Captain Commando.

This game is tough. No extends, nine (albeit short) stages, ughh.

I've been using the Ninja and the stage 6 boss I as far as I can make it.

Playing Final Fight 2 on the SNES.

Final Fight 2 is alot of fun. Haggar's sprite and vertical suplex looks great.

Carlos and Maki have the punch, punch, turn around whiff, punch, punch X repeat infinites. You can easily melt bosses with those two characters.

Also works well against those Andores with a ton of health.

I liked Final Fight 2 on SNES, why Capcom never did a direct sequel like this for the arcade I'll never fully understand. You would think it a natural choice being that the first game sold well, and Capcom is a company known for making sequels.

Probably because Final Fight was originally designated with the name Street Fighter 89', and therefore is a sequel/spinoff itself.

Sengoku and Street of Rage.

I like Final Fight but it is too difficult. Sengoku too but I really enjoy the sound atmosphere.

Street Of Rage has the best intro music of all time.

it's pretty much the only reason:(

Haha. It's not that bad. I haven't put too much time into it either. I guess I just get a little sad/bitter over the fact that the Neo didn't have many good beat 'em ups.

Robo Army never had a deep system or pin-perfect control, but it always had that Neo look that stood out above other home console beat-em-up ports. I've always liked the animal robot theme (from the birds to the sea monsters to the dog/ape bosses). You pretty much had to rely on the back kick which has twice the power of the regular punch, and the computer loved to cheap you out by attacking from both sides.

I still enjoy it and probably play it more than the better Neo beat-em-ups (Sengoku 2/3).

Lately, as far as beat em ups, it's been mostly Turtles in Time on the SNES and Knights of Valour on PGM.

I recently picked up Double Dragon III for the famicom. I've had almost no experience with this game prior.

Anyone who says it sucks, really isn't playing the game right. I am impressed. I don't know if the Japanese version is easier than the US release, because the game is no where as difficult as people say. The game is test of rigidity though, not a romp. But it's incredibly fun. The extra characters and limited use of character exclusive weapons is great.

I'm going to say Double Dragon III > Double Dragon II

The haters probably got decked by all the platforming at the final stage.

Wanted to play some Streets of Rage today. It's actually been years since I last played the game. I definitely still enjoy it.
