Any word on sticks for the Omega yet? I decided to just make my own and am going to hawk some items off that I don't want and just buy an Omega anyways since you've got a summer deal going on. PM incoming...

this.

Sticks are definitely the biggest thing people want.

Do get one, u won't regret it. I have been playing with it since it's arrival. I love the samurai showdown series, kof series and metal slug series. The graphics are nice, love those retro 2d gaming experience. I never even bother to play with my ps3 anymore. It reminds me the good old days when arcade was the place to play best games. I am now trying to collect all the neo geo games, i guess it will take a long time. I only hv around 20 games but i will collect all games.....someday. My most cherish collection currently are twinkle star sprites, neo mr do, bust a move again, garou motw, money idol exchanger, magical drop 3 n matrimelee.

Made some space.

In regards to the stick, the backlogged project I'm working is continually being a thorn in my side. What I'll end up doing is if it's not finished by the end of the month, I'll pull some strings to fund the joysticks before I get an ROI on the work I'm doing now.

On the bright side, I was sent a proto of NeoTurfMasta's new NBM with the internal memory card. Everything looks promising. I'm working on getting the logic consolidated to eliminate the difficult soldering points.

Yeah I have been waiting for the internal memory card support for a while now. I hope it's out by the end of the year.

So will Memory Card support be something we can add to our own Omegas, or will you offer a service to send them in to you?

MEMORY CARDEHZZZ??????????

It's more a virtual memory card than a physical card slot like the AES. You won't be able to transfer save data between systems but at least you'll be able to save progress in super long games like Baseball Stars 2. I've also tested it with Riding Hero and it doesn't erase saves like it does with 3rd party memory card. At least according to the memory card faq, this is what it supposedly does.

With the way the new NBM is designed right now, most likely you'll need to send in the system for upgrade unless you have a good soldering hand. As we speak, I'm working putting the decoding logic for the bios and memory card into a cpld. Once it's done, the NBM will be virtually solderless. I've finished the initial programming part. Now I just have to transfer it to the chip and test it. If I can pull it off, it's a pretty easy DIY install and you won't need to send in the system for upgrade.

Very cool! I've been putting off getting games like Crossed Swords because of the Memory Card features. I, uh, totally volunteer my Omega for a test install of the Memory Card, by the way. You know. For science.

now if only i could work out how to get this multicart down from level 8 on everything with it... the unibios menu doesn't appear to work with the cart... got a feeling i'll have to put up with it

not a big deal as i'm buying carts for the games i really like anyway :)

You can try changing the difficulty settings by entering the service menu. Hold B+C+D during the unibios splash screen. You should be able to change the soft dips along with the difficulty from there.

Just signed up to the forums to say how much I love my Omega, and to encourage anyone on the fence to buy one. I also picked up the HD cable with my order, it's worth considering as I see a surprising improvement on my big screen.

Really looking forward to seeing the joysticks.

Thanks for the thumbs up guys.

I got in a shipment of the new memory boards from NTM. Omega systems with Virtual Memory Cards are now available for $524. I only have a limited number of these so members here get first chance before it gets cataloged on the site. Upgrade options are available for existing owners as well. PM me for details.

Hi guys, just registered to the forum after reading all the good reviews about the omega. Guess I have to get one soon. :D Got two questions, maybe some of you can help me. How does the omega look on a plasma-TV? Hooked up the old SNES and really missed the scanlines. And is there any adapter out there to connect a X-Arcade to the omega? Thx :)

It looks pretty clean through component. Not too shabby with s-video. Composite is well, composite. You won't get scanlines like with most other HDTVs. What I've done myself to get scanlines is to use an XRGB and turn on scanlines mode. Looks quite good.

I'm not familiar with the connector outputs on the X-Arcade but if there is a cable that connects it to an AES, it'll work on the Omega. The control ports are pinout compatible.

Thanks for the quick response :) ... XRGB seems to be a really good choice. But it seems like it won´t work with component. I was looking at the Framemeister. Guess s-video is the right choise then?

Unfortunately there is no X-Arcade Adapter for the MVS, just checked their homepage. Need to get a stick then. :)
