Picked up a second Gateway DL27-1 yesterday afternoon. Basically a 27" CRT VGA monitor. I forgot how amazing stuff looks on this. Especially retro via an XRGB2+ or Dreamcast VGA adapter.

Dirty 68k emu, but still looks great. ChoRenSha 68k looks especially amazing.

SL, you have a lot of monitors, and no one spoke up in the CRT Fetish thread-so I'll ask you here.

Do you know of a tri-sync 26" that would fit inside of an Aero City?

Thanks!

I don't know first hand. Have you tried posting over at Arcade Otaku? Seems like a guy managed to drop in a 29" in the Aero City! Further in the thread, some guy said this 'Keep in mind that JPN 26" = US 25"'. So I guess if you get a 25" from Happ or something it will simply go in fine... or de-case a 25" US TV.

Also, although this guy dropped in a new monitor into an Astro City... he managed to get a universal chassis from some place called Jomac.

Maybe these guys at Jomac can help you out with parts or recommendations.

Picked up an interesting novelty. An MVS NeoGeo Garou in an AES cart shell. Will not play on an AES without adapter. Mainly bought it to get a cheap extra snaplock case and for the novelty factor.

Funky MVS (left) vs. real AES homecart (right)

Some repro posters of Dimahoo and Progear no Arashi. Need to do some trimming on the Progear on the right and some framing finagling.

Can this monitor handle the 15 kHz modes offered in some games or does it just throw a message saying out of range?

.

I would assume that it doesn't sync down that low, since he's using an xrgb with it.

Boxes for MVS

Since getting shockboxes here in Chile is simply not viable, I found a guy who makes repros of Snes boxes:multi_co:, and asked him if he could make MVS boxes or Sleeves using the shockbox insert desings available. this is the result.

The "infamous" Doki Doki Panic in cart form and custom box/instructions. Been wanting something like this (CIB style) for a loooong time. Much nicer than the loose asian pirate cart I also have.
