I think we just found our new place for a huge Neo Gathering next summer.

I thought about this during my lunch break, and I figured out why I like it so much.

It's not only that I'm a huge fan of everything SNK. It's also the fact that to 99% of people this just looks like a water fall, while the 1% that are SNK fans will see that it's a Metal Slug homage.

Now, try doing this with something else like Sonic or Mario. Even people who know nothing about video games will recognize that you changed your backyard to look like a "vidya gaem" and think you're some kind of man-child. You might even end up on some kind of database.

Considering we have a ways before summer, I'm assuming 8Man will be adding a lot more to it in the months to come for it to even come close to resembling Slug.

Thanks for the feedback!

It's not an exact replica of Metal Slug.
(I can only go so far, my wife would flip out if it looked exactly like Metal Slug).

But when the cannons are installed, and the fog jets are on... !!

Also finishing another BIG project, and will share that with you guys soon...

Wow, that's a seriously ambitious, and creative, project. What are you making the structures out of? Some kind of hardened foam over a wooden infrastructure?

I imagine you could incorporate some of the friendlier/cutesy aspects of Metal Slug to appease your wife's tastes without making it too militaristic. Trying to explain what the Fio and Eri cosplay models in bikinis are doing lounging around the poolside would be dicey though . . .

Maybe I'm a tard or maybe I just don't know what I'm actually looking at, but I don't see Metal Slug at all.

Is it from a background or is it supposed to be the actual tank? Maybe someone can MS Paint me a guide.

I've been assuming he wants to go for something that starts at 1:27.

You may want to reconsider the different paths into the slide, as if people are moving at speed down a slide and collide, they might have grounds to sue you for negligence.

What kind of sound system are you putting out there?

Add a projector and screen so people can watch movies from the pool.

Looks like a unfinished woolly mammoth, you go in through the mouth and slide out its arse.

I thought the same thing at first. Would make a great Space Harrier water park.

Rock structure is finished!!
Just working on the water cannons and control stations now.
I'm working directly with Zodiac. They are sending me demo nozzles to see which works best for the water cannons.
Also, I'm testing their in-ground Laminar Deck Jet... water shoots out in color.
If it goes well, they may produce a water cannon line based on my specs.

Plumbing behind the waterfall

The 2 HP pump and the two water pressurized blue storage tanks are in (120 psi max)!!

:A:The 3 main cannons are piped in 2" PVC with massive solenoids.
:B:The 3 mini explosion cannons are piped in 1" PVC with normal-sized solenoids.
:C:The last pipe on the right will power the fog jets.

Time to run the wires...

Oy, going skimpy on the ball valves. Those quarter turn models are probably only 150 PSI max at best. I recommend Colonial True Full Block Sch 80. And if your electrician knows what he's doing he'll be running a full protected conduit for all of the solenoids as well as Dry-Conn fittings at splicing points:

http://www.kinginnovation.com/

Watch out on the solenoid coils as well, anything over/under 10% on the 24V coming from your house and those puppies will fry.

I'm always surprised when people don't put in unions for quick disconnects either. All it takes for one of these valves to get stuck open is a small rock, and you'll be spending an hour trying to clean out the valve body.

Schedule 40. Sigh.
