Ok - I have a few days off work, and I plan to mod a few neos and fix up a few things... but I got to thinking:

Our microwave blew up this week. Thought one: "Dammit, there's £60 I wasn't expecting to spend".... Thought 2: "Kind looks like the hotel unit...."

So:

Minus:

Becomes:

With Power In and Scart Out:

Obligatory cold cathode:

Door closed engages the power, Buttons for Coin1, Coin2, P1 Start, P2 Start, Test, Service, Volume knob:

And KOF2000 ready to go:

Now it's late and I'm sleepy... this is either a terrible idea, or totally genius.

What do you think? If there is interest I will go on and finish it:

1) Install a MV1B in an enclosure, to look like the hotel unit inside. Just the cart will show.
2) Internal shelf to hold MVS carts.
3) Neaten wiring.
4) Install controller ports.
5) Unit re-spray in black, decals added.

Funny thing too is that you probably just had to replace the fuse on the microwave. It's the most common failure in a micro.

If I wanted to be radical and make a funky CMVS it would be an MV1 bare inside an aquarium filled with vegetable oil.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of PC tower-sized cases for MVS boards. Most of them are relatively small, which is always an advantage. I can't even think of a place you could put that...

Oh well, kinda cool none-the-less. I do happen to like recycling projects. :)

ZOMG! The labelz! NOOOOOooooo! ^^

On topic: I like it, just a few changes here and there and it's perfect.

I literally 'laughed out loud' when I saw this. I think it's great and you should definitely finish it.

Ha! That's great! You have to finish it at this point. It's too ridiculous a project not to.

The most unnecessary CMVS I've ever seen, but I have to admit you gave me a laugh.
