Hey hey! New proud parent to a "Big Red" 6 slot here! I've always loved Neo Geo and the price was too good to pass up on this amazing beast of a cabinet.

I need to change the player 2 joystick in my Super Neo 29 candy cab.
Gave it a good cleaning but it won't help, it's still as sticky as i got it.
I have been thinking of getting these Sanwa joysticks: http://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/sanwa_parts/sanwa_joystick_jlf_tp_8y_sk_r_red/13035.html

Will they fit to the attachment plate or has anyone any experience with it?
Edit: i can't seem to find one with the right size.

Or am i using the wrong grease to grease it up?
I used grease for bike chains.

2nd edit: seems like i need a silicone based lubricant.
Going to try that out and clean everything again tomorrow.

These are my current joysticks:

Hi there,

I'm a new member from the UK. Been a long time Neo fan and arcade player.

Came to the forums hoping to discuss MVS stuff as i'm in the process of setting up a community space for arcade gamers. I'm looking to import a lot of cabinets in bulk, so i was also hoping you guys might be able to help me with that.

Cheers!

Hello, how are you?.
I'm Alejandro from Argentina, Buenos Aires.
I have two OK Baby cabs that I restored myself.
One of them is a MAME cab with GroovyArcade, with several emulators.
The other one is a Neo Geo Cab with some mods, like auto fire and a pause switch.

Here is a pic of both of them:

<a href="http://s1281.photobucket.com/user/whipon/media/20140721_190656_zpsac8e8c0d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a501/whipon/20140721_190656_zpsac8e8c0d.jpg" border="0" alt="My Arcade Cabs photo 20140721_190656_zpsac8e8c0d.jpg"/></a>

I joined because I used the turbo fire circuit John_Smith shared here http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showt...fire-Circuit&p=1752836&viewfull=1#post1752836.
And I also modified it to a common ground version, so you can use one NE555 chip to enable turbo fire for multiple buttons.
So because I got the idea from here I wanted to share the circuit with the community.

I'll wait until I can make posts to share the circuit.

Regards ;).

I'm eagerly awaiting a restock on the Omega VMC console. In the meantime, I thought I'd make a u-turn to properly introduce myself, and say what's up.

I stumbled upon this site while researching and debating between a Neo Geo AES and a CMVS. I quickly learned about the Omega system here, and decided to join up after a couple of months of lurking.

I'm not a hard-core gamer, but I've been at it for a long while. I figured the time is right to invest in some proper hardware and join the forums.

Peace&blessings!

Hi Guys,
I'm Chad from the land down under, bit of a newbie but I can fix most things, I am 34yo, married with kids and enjoy long walks on the beach...lol
I am electrician working in the mines in Central QLD, playing with PC's and instrumentation stuff more than a normal leccy.
Any way, I was wanting to build a MAME type cabinet from scratch using some plans off the net, then by coincidence someone in town (small town) was selling an old NEO-GEO lowboy.
after getting this at a good price minus the main PCB I thought I could no put my PC into it and get going. I am starting to get the feeling that I would like to make this cab as original as possible. looking at the screen its about 59cm viewable and 61cm actual but I can't seem to find any info about it on the net, I will post some pics and hopefully you guys have some good info for me. It has 1 blown cap that I need to replace but I wouldn't have a clue to its size.

Hei guys

Norwegian guy, 28 here. Just got my NeoGeo AES (finally!) after first having played a MVS at a local diner when I was 12. Sengoku blew me away, and I knew I wanted something like it. All other concoles were not good enough, and I found out about the AES when I was 15. Being neaarly impossible to get a hold of, I kind of put the idea in the back of my head, but always compared other games to the MVS/ AES-games. I mean, the gameplay of, let's say, Magician Lord is so much better than 80% of what came out in 2009. Anyway; I got my AES, two joysticks and four games (KOF01, Fatal Fury 2, Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Spirits) and I've bought a few loose cartriges (Magician Lord, Sengoku) seeing as I'm both a student, husband AND father.

I found this forum looking for the other childhood-favorite of mine, ROBO ARMY. But I saw the community, and kind of realized that I needed to be here. I love to be around a bunch of likeminded People (though I Guess most of you are waaay more hardcore than I'll ever be, and I respect that fully) and I look forward to hang around her and preferrably have something interesting to say other than ramblings like this

Thank you guys so much,
-chris

Hi all, a Scottish (in the UK but maybe not for much longer) Neo Geo and a retro gaming fan (mainly 90s).

This is my first post and must say I'm looking forward to getting to know more about the Neo Geo community and the people who make it up. My main interests gaming wise is the NGPC at the moment though I am looking to get an AES. I came to this forum looking to meet some new people who are interested into the same things as myself as well as get some advice from those with greater skills and experience than myself.

I want to get into modding as my intention is to eventually front-light my NGPC but as of this moment I have literally no experience at all. I don't want to attempt something before I've got skill enough to do it as I think sloppy work is a waste of time and equipment when you could have waited until your skilled enough. As a side note as far a modding goes I want to develop a good level of skill as I've seen some terrible examples of mods, especially those with so much glue in them you'd think Slimer had used it as a handkerchief. I've seen some good work while lurking around this forum and that's the level I would one day like to be so any advice on where to start, easy and basic projects, how and what to use for soldering practice etc will be appreciated. So hi again to everyone, looking forward to getting to know the community.

Robo Army was my childhood favorite as well. Actually it was the first game I played on the home console when I rented it during the release year. I remember seeing it in the GameFan magazine and was in awe at how big the graphical sprites were and the massive bosses. That one is kind of pricey and hard to find, but more of a budget title compared to the Metal Slug's. Welcome from a gamer that lives near Seattle where a lot of Norwegian descents live.

Hey guy, just made an account and I'm checking in here since it seems like the only place i can make a post.
Looking to pick up an MVS board to consolize and I thought I would do some research first, so I came here.
Seems like a pretty neat site and some of you guys have some serious collections going!

Anyway, i look forward to hanging out here.
