U.S. launch on March 27th at $249.99. No confirmed launch day titles yet either.

I'm still on the fence about this one. $50 more gets you a PS3 or a 360. $50 less gets you a Wii.

I'm interested to see what move Sony will make with the PSP2 and/or the PSP phone. I hope the rumor of their announcement on Friday is true.

But that's what I'm saying: everything else isn't being locked up. Everything else is going the other way. Sony, which did region lock everything from day one, now doesn't. Microsoft has also gone a long way towards being region free on its current console. It's only Nintendo all by itself, bucking the trend and going in the opposite direction in yet another completely out-of-touch-with-reality move. Fuck them.

True. I guess I don't really see the 360 and PS3 as region-free even though they are. On 360, all the publishers lock the games up and on PS3, there ARE no games to import. :lolz:

Any chance a nice guy from the USA might be willing to buy it for me and send it?

At $250 + $30 shipping, that gives 207€, which is definitely a lot more tempting than 250€ :D

For the trouble, you'll get a nice pic of my sister (or brother if that's your thing :emb: )

That doesn't make any sense. You're making it sound like they didn't have the technology before now, or something. Having their games not be region locked was a CHOICE Nintendo made, back in the Gameboy days. Now they are reversing that choice for no real reason and it is bullshit.

Every generation it seems at least one of the console/handheld manufacturers uses unbelievably poor judgment. I imported my DS Lite (because I didn't want white) and bought a lot of Japanese carts like the Phoenix Wright games, the Japanese Dictionary, Japanese child-level language carts. There's no way in hell I'm buying two 3DS systems. I did that with Gameboy/GBA (too many to remember) and DS (2) and I just don't excessively buy hardware like that anymore.

that thumb analog stick will help me play Super Mario 64 alot easier too.

I hadn't even thought of that! I've always hated using the thumb strap.

you so crazy.

I can't think of any unless you count getting games early. Marmorou-Kun is supposed to come out, so I'll pick that up, but were there other you were thinking of?

I'll bite when Animal Crossing 3DS is released. Until then? Nope.

I'm far more interested in the PSP2. Two analog sticks, bitches! Along with a touch pad (in the back) and sixaxis controls for the pervy games. Oh yeah!

Kinda expensive at $250, here in illinois the sales tax is 10% so with taxes it would be at $275 which is close to $300 quid. Will there be any games included that's what I really want to know.

Seriously, I just hope the games are copyright protected because the bootleggers are selling those R4 cards with tons of games for the DS, DS lite etc.

i've got mine preordered from amazon.com. I don't think 250 is a terrible price considering it's new technology. I don't know of anything else that's 3d where i don't have to look like an idiot and wear dumb glasses. I just have gut feeling this is going to be like the wii, and hard to obtain for a while after launch, and I don't want to miss out. But that's not really the reason I want it at launch. I just think it looks bad ass, and I've been excited since E3. Lets hope it lives up to the hype.

I've been waiting ever since they announced them. I Pre ordered mine asap. Only thing that sucks is I will be out of town at the Midwest Gaming Classic in Wisconsin when they release. I'm gonna have to wait two days to get mine. It will feel like an eternity I know it. I am also taking a vacation from work the week it comes out.

So, yeah, I guess you could say I'm excited. The thing just sounds amazing.

Does anyone know if there is a list of launch titles yet?

That struck me odd as well. A few days ago Gamestop sent a notice regarding preorder of Nintendo 3DS, but there is no mentioning of any software at all.

I noticed both Dead Or Alive Dimensions and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition for the 3DS are launch titles on Gamestop's site. Resident Evil Mercenaries will be release in July. :)

I'm going to pre-order either a Cosmo Black or Aqua Blue 3DS portable at the local Gamestop near me. While I wait for more 3DS game titles to be released I at least have regular DS games to play for the time being. Also Super Mario 64 DS will control alot more easier with the analog stick instead of using the Dpad. :D

$250? Eesh, with all the other stuff to play I'm passing. Remakes can suck it until there are a couple of original titles that are one in a generation worth owning. I'm tired of paying console prices for handhelds.

You can always buy it on Amazon, thats what I did. Amazon is taking preorders now and you can always cancel it if you decide you don't want it later. Granted, since the 3DS is released on a Sunday you probably won't get it the day its released, but that fine by me if I get to save $25.

Notice that none of the launch titles listed on the Gamestop site were from Nintendo themselves.

Think I'll have to buy this. I watched a bunch of videos for it on the 'Nintendo Channel' on the Wii and I'm totally hyped for it now. Hope it's not too hard to find on launch day.

I'm not too concerned for the launch titles since it has backwards compatibility for DS games. I can wait.

I'm not concerned with the $250, since that's a one time thing.

I'm more worried that they're going to use this as the excuse to bump portable games to $50.

I read the other day on one of the regular gaming sites that it was going to be $40 for most games, with some upwards of $50. I doubt anything is set in stone yet. I still wouldn't pay more than $30 for a portable game.
