Good place for it. Also, i seen it advertised on Steam so I'm guessing it's PC as well.

I'm sad because my awesome comments were deleted. Now I know how wasabi feels :(

Well, nothing on FB is ever totally deleted so if you want to come up with some way to sue your friend and get your old posts back (at least copies of what they were) via discovery requests to FB then you're back in the game!

Figured this counts as the all inclusive Walking Dead thread so I just wanted to remind everyone that the first episode of the Walking Dead game came out this week (Friday for Xbox) and I have to say that it's pretty great.

I had played the Sam and Max and Back to the Future games from Telltale, and while those are adequate for a laugh or two or just a quick diversion, this game definitely shows that they can make some fantastic gaming. The whole interface and presentation seems miles beyond their previous work (didn't play Jurassic Park so I can't comment on that series) and it plays a lot more smoothly and intuitively.

Not a lot in the way of puzzles (certainly nothing like you would see in a Monkey Island title) so don't expect this to be a challenge more than it's a choose your own adventure. And in this game I at least feel that I'm making choices that affect the world and the characters. I turned off the indicator for when a choice I made had an effect (and I would recommend you do the same) and I don't expect my decisions to completely alter the storyline but it did feel like the characters responded to you differently depending on your decisions. I'll have to see how that carries over to the next episode but this is the only time I felt a desire to go back for a second play through just to see where the other paths will take me.

I think a company even as prestigious as Bioware could learn from a game like this in how you don't have to always have the clear cut good/evil choices. If I want to be a jerk to everyone than I'll pick out those jerk responses but there's no need to hold my hand and give me +2 bad guy points.

It should also be noted that Clementine is a far better child of the zombie apocalypse then Carl's dumb ass, if in the end I had to make a choice of either sacrificing myself to save Clementine I'd do it without a second thought where if it was Carl I'd toss that little fucker to the zombies and spit in his direction

This is where we're talking about the game, right? I tried the demo and I liked it, so I thought what the fuck, and bought the season on PS3.

After having played the whole first episode I can say I really, really liked it. There have been a lot of other attempts to revive the ol' point and click adventure game, and I have to admit that I haven't really played any that really captured the same amount of fun. This did though. Good stuff.

Let's hope the ensuing episodes are just as good. When's the next one? End of the month?

P.S. The TV show is still terrible. ;)

I don't see why not talk about the game here which I love, I so love the bits where it says in the corner "so and so will remember this"

I know Sons Of Anarchy is looking for a game deal and I say they should call TT up

The pilot in black and white was real good. Very Night of the Living Dead like.

Reminder for the comic fans: Issue 100 comes out tomorrow (7/10), they've promised to make it memorable.

I've yet to read the last eight issues. Been waiting for some quiet time off. Anyone spoiling Issue 100 will be stabbed with a frozen burrito.

Yeah, the current arc ends at 102, so you have a while.

100? I started reading these and got the first 6 volumes. I think there was about 17 volumes, but they're also bigger than regular comics so maybe one of these volumes are several comics rolled into one?

Yes, there's the normal tpb which is 4 to five issues in one, then there's the bigger tpb that's a hardcover that is two regular tpbs in one then there's the compendiums which is like a entire story arc in one

yeah wasn't sure on that as i had seen talk of both of the comic and the tv show in this thread....

oh and saw the preview clip for season 3. took that they're actually going to the prison... although that head dude from woodbury seems to be nothing like the comic.

i wonder if the negan bunch will appear in the tv show. :spock:

They would have to tone him down considering how The Gov was in the comic, you think the general populance who don't know how twisted comics can get really want to see a guy
Spoiler:
make out with his zombified daughter?

i've been up-to-date reading the comic and yeah, this thread is for the tv show... just considering how different the first 2 seasons were from the comic, i wonder just how much stuff they're going to change for season 3.

i enjoy the tv show, it just feels like i'm watching a 'variant' of the comic. would be cool if it was at least as graphic/violent as the comic but considering it's on amc, keep dreamin' eh ?

Season 3 coming up and this thread won't feel the same without HN coming on to complain about how stupid he thinks the show is by comparing it to 'the greatest tv series of all time', The Wire.

well, i can't do any arguing over the whole "greatest tv series of all time" comment, although i will say that the tv series version of walking dead sucks big time compared to the comic.

i wonder how much they'll butcher the 'thief of thieves' series.

I view the comic and the tv series as two different stories that are loosely related. One isn't better than the other, imo. They both provide something different.
