It's not a matter of drawing too much power. It's a matter of having enough power to drive them. I'm not sure what the power rating is on the audio of a MVS board. Anybody know?

Also you need to remember that arcade speakers are 8 ohm speakers. As long as your speakers to not tax the puny built in amp on whatever arcade board you are using you should be fine. As long as yout speakers provide at least as much resistance(ohms) you should be ok. If your speakers provide less it can cause damage to the amp.

thanks but i think the normal running is 4ohm with 100rms, what about using the headphone socket on the motherboard and using an rca splitter and putting that through your stereo?

The single slot later, smaller mvs board uses a HA 13001 audio output IC.
It is rated at- Dual 5.5W (into 8 Ohms)
I will pull out one of the six slots to have look, I think it would be the same.
Interestingly the later one slots have this stereo chip but run in mono.
If the Alpines are for auto use they will have 4 ohm inpeadance, this may cause the output IC to run hot, as long as your not running at full volume it shouldnt really be a problem.

As suspected the six slots also use a HA 13001, so imagine all mvs boards do.
5.5 Watts into each 8 ohms is max power <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
