Just checked my US AES that I bought back in 1990. Serial number 011396. I'm guessing this is fairly low but just curious who else has one of the early ones.

My US AES is a 15XXX, if I'm not wrong.

My Pal European AES is 36491.

I don't remember now the Jap AES serial.

Any info about the box/manuals? Is it somehow different from usual?

does it matter if you have a high or low serial number if you plan on getting a component output/S video mod (whether external or internal)? My questions is in regards to picture quality (RGB output, etc)

thanks

000017, that's impressive.I'm suprised the employees and VIP's didn't scoop up the first hundred or so.

I just love the fact that my Neo-Geo has been going strong for 20 years.

Of course...My Atari 5200 has been going strong for even longer.

Too bad every system past Nintendo 64 has moving parts. I doubt I'll be playing my PS3 in 20 years.

Maybe you won't play your PS3 anymore by then, but most likely your Neo will STILL be going strong!

I'd be surprised if your PS3 is still functioning properly in 20 years.

I think the newest systems are in the 340k to 350k range.

The lowest serial I have seen was around 00003X. It was on eBay, I was going to try and get it but it went for way too much. Besides....I didn't need a 3rd home system. Oh well...

That is awesome!

How did you get it? Secondary market?

Yes, I received this system about 10 years ago without knowing about it's origin. It came in a normal gold box with regular documentation. I may have some extra brochures on hand that were also included, but I'd need to search for them.

Although it's believed that early units were rental systems, I can't imagine how this would be as the deck was just about flawless.
